We certainly Rocked the Hallows this year! We had a great turn out to the event and want to thank everyone who came out to bring downtown Kingsport alive! We also were pleased with all the feedback and photos you brought to our Rockin' the Hallows Facebook Page. Every bit of feedback good or bad will help us make next years event bigger and better.
Check out the recap below and relive the memories (or see what you missed out on ;-) ). We'll see ya next year!
The 2013 Rockin the Hallows was held in the Farmer's Market in downtown Kingsport. We let the kiddies in early at 2 PM so they could enjoy the Kid's Corner courtesy of Fun for All and Beef-O-Brady's. We brought in massive inflatables that would make any kid jump for joy. The kid's were also able to enjoy face painting by 2 Ton Tattoo and other tricks and treats.
The gates opened for the older, but still young at heart, party goers at 4PM. You may have noticed getting in was a bit easier this year thanks to the use to cash registers and pre-sold tickets via www.rockinthehallows.com.
Travis O-Quinn kicked off the bands followed by Catfish Frye Band, Ivy Road, and Benny Wilson. Party goers who needed a break or who just wanted to kick back and enjoy the music were able to relax in bag chairs that we encouraged everyone to bring themselves.
Food Vendors were available throughout the night. The party was filled with the amazing aromas from Fox's Pizza Den, The Shack, Shabby Allie's, and A Little Taste of Harmony (gator tails anyone?). To keep everyone warm and awake The Nutty Java was on hand with Kingsport's best coffee and hot cocoa. For anything a little stronger guests just walked on over to our beers stations sponsored by Bud Light!
At 9:45 we took a break from the rockin' and rollin' to parade out the very best in costume contest participants. It was a hard call for our judges. I mean really how can you pick from a giant jelly fish with glowing tentacles and scuba diver, a 6 ft puppeteer with living puppet, a very real Captain Jack Sparrow, and the best Beetlejuice we've ever seen, just to name a few? After some very tough conversation and scoring the $1000.00 Action Rentals Cash Prize was given to the only outhouse at the party that could walk around on its own! We didn't catch your name Mr. Toilet Man but you were awesome.
Wolfcreek closed out the night with their own unique brand of pure Americana.
We thank you all for coming out again and a special thanks to our sponsors! If you're ever around town drop by and tell them thank you yourself.
